Voter Registration
July 7, 2026, is the last day to register to vote for the August 6, 2026 County General Election and State Primary.
Online Voter Registration (available for some residents 24/7 through GoVoteTN.gov).
Register at the Cocke County Election Commission Office. Located in the Western Plaza, 157 Western Plaza Dr., Newport, TN 37821, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Closed all holidays.
Print and Mail a Voter Registration Application. Download a Tennessee Voter Registration Application (pdf), print, complete, and mail the form to the Cocke County Election Commission, P.O. Box 459, Newport, TN 37822.
Voter registration does not automatically transfer if a person moves from one county to another county. You must be registered to vote in Cocke County by the voter registration deadline.
Make sure you are registered to vote by using the TN Voter Registration Lookup from the Tennessee Secretary of State or by calling our office at 423-623-2042. Look up your voter registration status, make sure your Cocke County address is current, and determine your county voting district.

Absentee By-Mail Ballot Application (pdf). The last day for the election commission to receive a completed Absentee By-Mail Ballot Application for the August election is July 27, 2026. All maps are courtesy of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury’s office. In Cocke County, the County Commission Districts also serve as the districts for Constables, Road Commissioners, and County School Board Members. (Districts listed on deeds, property transfer notices, and so forth are not the same as the County Commission Districts.)

Cocke County Election Results
The Cocke County Election Commission office:
Manages all voter registration in Cocke County and all voter list maintenance;
Plans and implements all elections in Cocke County, including federal, state, county, and municipal;
Provides election information to residents and prospective voters;
Maintains candidate and referendum records, including nominating petitions and local campaign financial reports;
Complies with all state law and promulgated rules regarding elections in the State of Tennessee and monitors legislation and updates for changes to the law or rules.
